11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel ( Christ ): behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them ( Christ ), Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel ( The Church ).
13 And ye ( Christ ) shall know that…Continue

In this punishment of exclusion from heavenly blessings we have set before us the second death, of which mention is made in the Book of Revelation. Unbelief in Jesus crucified and glorified as the Messiah, or disobedience to the second divine law, the command to believe, constituted the second sin. Like the first sin, it was a sin unto death: but the death consequent on it one of a more awful description than the first which had been incurred by Adam and his posterity. 1 John v. 16, compared…Continue

As, then, the Israelites in their journey from Egypt had been made to wander forty years in the wilderness of Arabia, until a then existing generation had passed away, before they entered into Canaan; so were the true Israelites, consisting of believing Jews and Gentiles, in their journey from the mystical Egypt of the Mosaic rites and institutions, Rev. xi. 8, made to continue forty years in the wilderness of a reconciled state, subject to the law of faith, until the whole generation of…Continue

These last words of Christ in John 19:30 - "It is finished" - have been tossed back and forth on this site before in another post as to their exact import. Traditionally, I too was taught that this was Christ's triumphant announcement from the cross that salvation's work was completed.
There's just one problem with that interpretation, which some of you have also noted. Paul declares most emphatically in I Cor. 15:16-17 that if Christ be not raised, our faith is vain…Continue
17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth ( The Church ): and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem ( The Church ) a rejoicing, and her people ( Christ ) a joy.
19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem ( The Church ), and joy in my people ( Christ ): and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her ( The Church ),…Continue

The millennial prediction (Rev. 20:2-7) seems to be referring to the relatively brief interval ( 65 years ) between the destruction of Jerusalem ( First Jewish–Roman War ) by Titus in AD70, and the destruction of Jerusalem ( Bar Kokhba Revolt ) by Hadrian in AD135.
And here let it be observed, once for all, that this chapter is not to be regarded as a continuous narration in point of time. The revelator relates parallel occurrences, and not consecutive ones. From verses 1—3,…Continue
This is a short study pinpointing the ending date of Daniel's 70-week prophecy and the God-sanctioned transfer of the gospel focus toward the Gentiles that followed this 490 years. This topic has been covered on other posts, but I would like to come at it from a relatively new angle that I haven't encountered elsewhere yet.
It involves a close look at Paul's words in I Timothy 1:15-16 from the Interlinear. "Faithful is the word, and of all acceptation worthy, that Christ Jesus came…Continue

This seems to be an interesting article concerning the on going discussion about Mr.Adam.
One of the questions raised by the evolutionary view of human origins is where, exactly to place Adam and the origin of the human race created in the image of God. Were there pre-Adamic humans? Are or were some “humans” (however we define human…Continue
Young Earth Creationists believe and teach that Humans and Apes from the same ancestors is impossible, yet that Foxes and Dogs from the same ancestors happened over a period of only 400 years or so from the time of Noah's Flood until the time of Abraham and Job.
It is difficult to get a detailed description of the differences between the actual genes in these numerous species. Genes being the feature that evolution "works on" in a well understood and demonstrable manner.…Continue

The "Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis was my earliest teenage introduction to the sinister world of Satan and his henchmen. All that storytelling skill which C.S. Lewis possessed had me believing this as gospel at that time. But, with all due respect to the beloved Narnia creator, C.S. Lewis had some screwed up theology with regard to the demonic world. John Bunyan's "Holy War" was also a great favorite for me back then in the 70's.
Fast forward to the present. The comments…Continue
What are the consequences of the AD70 consummation for the individual living today, both before and after coming to believe?
I just released a short book on preterist time statements call, well, "Preterist Time Statements" this morning on Kindle. The Mosaic Law is a term that has been bandied around quite a bit recently! We realize & recognize, for the most part, that what is meant by this terminology is the 600+ 'laws' ( including the Ten Commandments? ) that were given THROUGH Moses, but should we really use the term 'Mosaic' to describe it? Can we conscionably call it 'The Law of Moses', or must we realize & recognize that the WHOLE Law given TO Israel UNDER that first ( covenant ) was the Law of God ( Love ),…Continue
For me there are 2 annoying questions? These questions are for the preterest believer and community, which comes from this verse?
Col 1:27 to whom God did will to make known what is the riches of the glory of this secret among the nations — which is Christ in you, the hope of the glory,
1st question: Is this past, present or yet future for the believer?
2nd question: How does faith play a role in this picture? Is it past , present or future for the…Continue

Unsettling History of That Joyous ‘Hallelujah’
By MICHAEL MARISSEN
Published: April 8, 2007 in the New York Times
IN New York and elsewhere a “Messiah Sing-In” — a performance of Handel’s oratorio “Messiah” with the audience joining in the choruses — is a musical highlight of the Christmas season. Christians, Jews and others come together to delight in one of the consummate masterpieces of Western music.
The high point, inevitably,…

THE EARLY CHURCH FATHERS AND THE LAST DAYS OF THE JEWISH AGE
Written anonymously around 100 AD, the “Epistle of Barnabas” is the earliest extra-Canonical source we have. Although not included in the Canon of the New Testament, it is an incredibly early documentation of the early Church’s beliefs about the last days. The Apostle John was probably alive when it was…
