An amazing insight into the New Creation!

I am posting this mainly for our common edification and reflection. I hope that this has not been posted already...forgive me if it has. This was just too good to pass up.

Octavius Winslow was a contemporary of Charles Spurgeon.

"When we meet in a Christian professor the image of Christ, the family-likeness, our love will prompt us immediately to recognize that individual as a believer in Jesus, and to acknowledge him as a brother in the Lord. And…

Social Group and Moral Decisions

This is and interesting post.  I believe it will help us think clearly as we interact with each other in the search for truth in the scriptures.

This is post #4 on The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion, by Jonathan Haidt. We face a dilemma: studies evidence that…

Book review: Among Creationists

This is an interesting read.  Many of the thoughts are relevant to those of us who are Covenant Creationists and are home-educators.

What happens to a mathematician or science-type who decides out of curiosity to spend gobs of time — weekends, conferences, reading time — with the creationists? Their number, as the recent Gallup poll indicated (though this book refines those numbers a bit), is not small. What happens when you spend time with creationists?

Barth vs. Brunner on "Natural Theology"

I recently wrote a paper analyzing Karl Barth's arguments against Emil Brunner's theses laid out in an essay called "Nature and Grace." Barth was deeply concerned about the consequences of a so-called "true natural theology" which ascribes a "point of contact" for divine revelation apart from God's self-revelation in Jesus Christ, witnessed by the Scripture. Here is how Barth defines "natural theology":

"By 'natural theology' I mean every (positive or negative)…

A survey of views on the historicity of Adam and Eve.

"Near Emmaus" is the biblioblog of Brian LePort, Daniel Levy, and JohnDave Medina.

Historically, scholars have debated whether the background of Revelation is the persecution by Nero or…

Rev 20:7-10 (Post Millennium)?

Recently a discussion was brought up by a good friend concerning Duncan and Doug W.’s Premillennial Preterism on a closed forum I belong to. I typically have to stay away from these detailed discussions because they require a lot of energy, thought and time to enter into intelligently.  Against my better judgment I decided to enter in even though I don’t have the time and energy I used to be able to allocate to these issues. Partially this is because I’m not giving Duncan and Doug a fair…
