Ed Hassertt has recently left preterism and one of the main reasons is as follows
“To me it seems preterism has become a convenient theology for those who want to have a “biblical” excuse to leave the oversight and authority of a local church, and want to be on their own.”
This kind of caught me off guard. I haven’t met anyone in the preterist circles that has claimed they came to the preterist view because they needed a reason to ditch their local Baptist congregation.
