Deathisdefeated

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

I want to thank JL, Tim and for the book and John for the fun contest.

It was fun and I appreciate it very much!

Yes, I have read the book but it was a long time ago and I've been thinking of re-reading it. I am off on vacation next week and was thinking of taking it with me. I'm going on a cruise so it seemed appropriate to read about the flood while we are at sea. :o))

Have fun in Cozumel. I've always wanted to visit there.

Sharon,

If I remember right, that was the old 2nd edition (paperback pamphlet).

This new edition is virtually a completely new book. You'll see what adding a fine co-author can really do to a book project!

Blessings,

Ted,

Caribbean cruises are really cheap in the winter. Especially in November. As little as $100/night for the two of you.

Tim,

I think she bought a copy of the 3rd edition at PPW 2 1/3 years ago.

Sharon,

Don't let Tim kid you. Tim wrote every word in that book that is not mine. Make careful notes of all my misspellings, bad grammar, overstatements, and poor arguments. Maybe we can correct them in the next printing in 2012 or 13.

Hi JL,

Thanks JL. Actually, we are going to Honduras (Roatan), Belize, Costa Maya Mexico and Key West. Then back to Miami. I am really excited about going on an air-boat trip in the everglades when we get back! And strangely enough, I am very curious about Belize City. I've heard a lot about it and have wanted to visit for quite some time. Maybe because I've heard about a lot of missions going there. You should go to Cozumel though. I've been there and it was really nice. Such beautiful water!

Ed, I'll be sure to look out for the floating serpents. LOL I'll keep my camera with me, just in case!

Tim, I checked when I got home and I have the 3rd edition of the book (2007). It's even an autographed copy! :o) I have to admit though, I didn't read the whole book from front to back, as you and JL suggested. I skipped around in it. This is another reason I wanted to re-read it - properly this time! Is there another edition? Or is the third the latest?

Sharon
PS: Just so ya'll know though... if it is the same book I have, I will give it away to someone else. I can't abide a book going to "waste". :o)

Sharon,

The 3rd edition, with Jim Kessler's paintings on the cover, is the latest. The 1st and 2nd editions made the original case for a local/regional Genesis flood.

Our critics appear to have conceded that preterism requires a local /regional flood. They have quit discussing that and only discuss the meaning of Genesis 1, and of course philosophy and science. That should mean BCS Chapters 1-12 (our case for general preterism, history of how we got into this mess, the covenant view of the flood, Babel, and the fall) and 20-21 (our case for full preterism and the future) are generally accepted by full preterists.

Our critics also ignore the actual case we make for a Covenant Creation in Chapters 13-18. They prefer to disprove Covenant Creation by copying RE's misquotes of Tim's 2nd edition and demonstrating that the Reformed and the Church of Christ disagree on issues peripheral to whether the Genesis creation was the creation of the planet or the creation of the "world" of the old covenant.

We would really like to have a critic who engages the actual case we made. This would help us evaluate that case; strengthen the arguments that need and can be strengthened; toss the arguments that are weak, errant, or superfluous; add new arguments; etc.

Blessings,

Jeff

Hi JL,

What a memory JL! You're right. I did purchase BCS at one of Don's PPW about 2 1/2 years ago. I don't know if I can offer any arguments that haven't already been addressed, but I'll keep it in mind while I read the book and make some notes. I do have some question in mind already, but I'll wait until I've read the book to ask them since they may be answered already.

I'm off to finish packing! See ya'll in about a week.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Sharon
